FAQs

Q: Your website url is www.media678.com/MarkWatkinsPhoto.  What is Media678.com?

A: Media678.com is a new venture of mine who’s purpose is to design, create and host websites for local small businesses.  If you would like more information please feel free to contact me.

Q: Do you do any other type of photography besides youth sports?

A: Yes, currently because of family obligations I have limited my photo and video production schedule.

Q: My child played sports many years ago.  Is there any way to see or buy photos from those long ago games?

A: The majority of my work from 2002 to present can be found in the online archive on this website.  Events from 2001 and earlier are kept in several file cabinets located in my super secret underground storage facility (my basement).  So if you are looking for images from long ago check the archives.  If you don’t see what you are looking for let me know and I will be happy to help.

Q: You must really have a great camera.  What kind of camera do you use?

A: Over the years I have used a variety of equipment.  For outdoor sports work I use a Nikon D2Hs with a 300mm lens and for indoor I use the Nikon D300s with a 70-200 2.8 lens.  Nothing fancy.

Q: Are you on Facebook?

A: Yes, search Mark Watkins Photography

Q: Do you ever hire other photographers?

A: I prefer to maintain total control over both the capture and finish of every image start to finish.  Many times I can schedule around the need for bringing in another shooter.  So on rare occasions I will hire another photographer.

Q: I would really love to do photography as a career.  Any suggestions?

A: The first priority is to develop a strong foundation in business management.  If you are going to spend money on education do it in business and not photography.  Why?  A knowledge of sound business and marketing practices will allow you to manage the business.  The photographic knowledge  and experience is easily obtained.  I often mentor those that are trying to establish themselves.  Contact me and we can go from there.
